Enormous Demand for Tickets to the Song and Dance Celebration
The demand for tickets to the XXVIII Song and XXI Dance Celebration has been exceptionally high. An additional batch of tickets will go on sale on March 18.
The ticket sales for the XXVIII Song and XXI Dance Celebration “Iseoma” began on January 6 at noon, and in just over 24 hours, 50,000 tickets were sold. As of today, tickets for all three dance performances and for the seating sectors of the Sunday grand concert of the Song Celebration are sold out. However, there are still plenty of tickets available for the general area of the grand concert, as well as for the seating sectors of the Saturday opening concert of the Song Celebration and the general area.
Due to the high public interest, additional stands will be installed at the dance floor, and on March 18 at 12:00, tickets for these additional stands, as well as extra tickets released from group bookings, will be available for sale through Piletilevi’s sales channels.
Margus Toomla, the director of the Estonian Song and Dance Celebration Foundation, expressed his joy over the strong interest in the tickets. “In the last 24 hours, the number of participants in the XXVIII Song and XXI Dance Celebration has increased rapidly. In addition to tens of thousands of singers, dancers, and musicians, whose regional pre-rehearsals will begin in the coming days, our family has been joined by tens of thousands of ticket-buying spectators, whose enthusiasm and applause, lasting for hours as is customary at such grand events, are the most important recognition and thanks to our performers for their hard work,” said Toomla.
Compared to previous Song and Dance Celebrations, the demand for tickets has grown exponentially. In 2019, during the XXVII Song and XX Dance Celebration “Minu arm,” approximately 22,000 tickets were sold on the opening day of ticket sales. In 2023, for the XIII Youth Song and Dance Celebration “Püha on maa,” around 6,000 tickets were sold.
The XXVIII Song and XXI Dance Celebration will take place from July 3 to 6, 2025, in Tallinn. The artistic director of the Song Celebration is Heli Jürgenson, the chief choreographer of the Dance Celebration is Helena-Mariana Reimann, and the creative director of the Folk Music Celebration is Helin Pihlap. The organizer of the Song and Dance Celebration is the Estonian Song and Dance Celebration Foundation.
